The second NCBC work session, from 26th September to 7th October 2011, has concluded this very successful experience giving the floor to a new education architecture for the 2012. In fact, the old didactic module will be replaced by the 1st revised edition of NCBC 01/2012 that it will be run from 30th January to 10th February 2012.

Summing up, the NATO CIMIC BASIC COURSE revised edition is, as the same time, the evolution and an improvement of the previous module, with a specific and tailored structure specifically conceived for enabling the participants to accomplish the complete range of Field and Staff Level (Tactical and Operational) CIMIC activities across the full spectrum of military engagement in whatever modern operational environment.

Thus, dear readers, if you are curious, if you want to learn more about CIMIC matter or you are appointed to be employed in the future as CIMIC operator, do not hesitate to join us for the NATO CIMIC BASIC COURSE revised edition (NCBC 01/2012) from 30th January to 10th February 2012.

CIMIC Mission Specific Preparation Course 2/2011

The MNCG has organized and run the 2nd special CIMIC session training of the year, from 13th to 15th December 2011, towards military personnel from ITA GARIBALDI Bde, scheduled to be deployed in Afghanistan in 2012. The whole activity, conceived as a mission specific training, aimed at improving the CIMIC capabilities and enabling the participants to fulfill their special duties within ISAF CIMIC structure. In fact, the lectures and the syndicates were supported, as usual, by first-hand ISAF experience provided by military and civilian personnel who have already accomplished a duty tour in Afghanistan.

The audience was composed by military personnel appointed to cover CIMIC positions at different level within the ISAF framework (Regional Command West, Provincial Reconstruction Team as well as different Task Forces).

The 3-days course, located at MNCG HQ, had the main purpose to provide the students with CIMIC principles and general awareness on NATO CIMIC doctrine, cultural awareness, historical afghan background, inter-ethnic relations, negotiation, Regional Command West and Italian Provincial Reconstruction Team HQ structures and organization as well as highlighting best practices proved to be essential within the Civil-Military improvement.

CIMIC Liaison Module 2/2011

The MNCG has accomplished the 2nd appointment scheduled for this year related to the CIMIC Liaison Module, running the 2/2011 work session from 28 November  to 1 December  2011.

The course is designed to provide former NATO CIMIC Basic course’s students with knowledge, skills and tools needed to enhance their CIMIC Liaison capabilities with special reference to multinational and multidimensional contexts which characterize the environment of current NATO’s major Operations.

Located in the Academic Building Facilities, the 4-days full immersion working session has been conceived as a logical follow-up to the NATO CIMIC Basic Course (NCBC) within the CIMIC functional area. The 24 participants, civilian and military personnel alike came from Denmark, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.

Very interesting and fruitful were not only the practical activity related to public speaking, but also the interview simulation encompassed within the didactic pillar “dealing with media” and Public Affairs module.
